CoryRex Pugs and Pyrenean Shepherds is located in Mariposa, California and was started when our love for our companion animals turned toward showing them in conformation. After our first few shows, we were truly hooked. Tony and I began showing our first pug bitch, Royal A's Memorable Margaux. Dee Dee (or our Delightful Dream) as we called her, became a champion after 6 months, one day after her first birthday. |
We bred Dee Dee in 1999 to Ch. Blaque's Thunder Lightning and kept one puppy, CoryRex's Tangerine Dream (Gina). Gina was a delight to show to her championship, and was exclusively handled by breeder/owner, Courtney. We bred Gina to Ch. Full Moon I'm Engaging (Gage), and were blessed with 7 beautiful puppies on December 17, 2001 (Pictures found here). |

In 1997, we purchased an English Setter named Ch. Gray Sky's Miz Scarlett "Vivian". Tony showed her to her championship. Vivian is one of those truly special champion dogs and won Best of Breed at 37 different shows. She was invited to the first-ever Eukanuba Classic in Orlando, Florida, when she was ranked Number 10 in the US. Eukanuba invites the top 20 dogs of each breed to compete, and we were proud to watch our girl in the ring! We also now own "Big", a beautiful Pyrenean Shepherd that is taking the California show circuit by storm! Watch for more on "Big".
Once you've been involved in dog shows, you are never the same person again. You purchase vehicles and wonder how many crates will fit inside. You buy pop-up tents with no intention of camping, but rather to keep the sun off your dogs during the day of the show. Your dogs take over your life because you want them too - and because you love it. It is truly a "hobby" that requires a desire for bettering your dog's breed and a humble spirit.
